Elaina Beam (Swami Karikananda) is a kriya yoga practitioner and life student of yogic philosophy and esoteric wisdom.  As a mystical writer and spiritual guide, Elaina’s intention is to expand awareness of body and mind while encouraging self-acceptance, peace of mind, and equanimity to ultimately raise consciousness and transform our way of being through yogic methodology.

Elaina is an ordained Swami studied through the Temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago and is a disciple of Goswami Kriyananda who carries the flame of the holy kriya lineage of Sri Babaji, passed on to him from his guru Sri Shelliji and his param guru Paramahansa Yoganandaji.

As a Hatha Yoga Instructor Elaina received her teaching certification with Diane Wilson (who has since semi-retired after 30 plus years of yogic service) in Portland, Oregon after an intensive 6 month private training and 3 year group practice.

My Personal Bio:

More than anything I love to dance.  I am a student of life with vast interests including yoga, astrology, religion, mysticism, philosophy, music, and so much more… I am fascinated with the human experience and our ability to overcome limitations.  I feel that language and breath are our most valuable assets in transformation.  As a socialized introvert I love to laugh with, observe, and contemplate life.  I am a poet, a guide, a writer, an alchemist, and a true romantic…

Currently residing in the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Oregon) I am enamored with the wonder-filled woods that surround and feed my soul, while the nearby rich and mysterious sea fuels my spirit.  My current practice is the art of being…open, present, and consciously aware – serving life fully and wholly.  I facilitate women’s groups, yoga retreats and offer one-on-one spiritual guidance, along with being a floral artist, yoga instructor, and jewelry designer (visit Adorned Jewelry).   It is my mission to share smiles, warm hearts, and be a blessing to life and all the beautiful souls that I encounter…

Being in love with the core of nature and all its intense and intertwined intricacies, I am committed to Truth…

My Promise:

To be as kind and gentle as the moment allows.
To be non-judgmental and neutral while remaining fully present.
To be confidential and trustworthy.
To be true, honest, and supportive.
